Northstar V3: Student Search
Introduction
The student search feature provides a quick and efficient way to locate an individual student within Northstar. Designed for ease of use, the standard search supports commonly used student identifiers and allows you to access a student record with minimal navigation. This search is ideal for day-to-day student lookups and direct record access.

Getting Started
The Student Lookup panel is located on the right side of the homepage. Enter one or more search values into the available fields to locate a student. You do not need to complete all fields to run a search.
Once your criteria are entered, click New Search to display matching results.
Search Fields
You can search for a student using any of the following fields:
- Student ID/ SSID - Search using a unique student identifier
- First Name - Enter the student's first name
- Last Name - Enter the student's last name
- Email - Search using the student's email address
- Birthdate - Select or enter the student's date of birth
Using more specific search criteria will help narrow results and return more precise matches.
Viewing Search Results
After running a search, matching students will appear in the results list. Selecting a student from the results will open the Student Dashboard, where you can view enrollment details, program progress, financial information, notes, files and other student-related data.

Additional Options
If you need to locate a group of students or apply advanced filters, select Custom from the Student Lookup panel to access the Custom search feature. Instructions for the Custom search can be found here: How to use the Custom search
