Northstar V3: Enter Class Roll
Class Roll Introduction
The Class Roll page in Northstar V3 provides an efficient and user-friendly way to record and manage student attendance. Designed to streamline daily workflows, this page offers clear visual indicators for student attendance status, helping instructors quickly identify which records require attention.
With built-in filters, progress tracking, and automatic saving, the Class Roll experience reduces manual effort and improves accuracy. Whether you are entering attendance for a single sessions or reviewing multiple classes, the page is optimized to support timely and complete attendance entry.
Getting Started
The Class Roll page is available under the Instruction category.
To begin, navigate to the Class Roll page and select the Date for which you want to record attendance.
- If attendance has not been submitted for any previous dates, an Unsubmitted Attendance notification will appear. This allows you to quickly access and complete those outstanding records.
- You can narrow your results by selecting a specific Room, Class, or High School, or by enabling the Unsubmitted Only and/or Timed Sessions Only checkboxes. These filters help you focus on the records that require action.

Once the correct list of student is displayed, enter attendance for each student using the attendance drop-down menu.
- Attendance is automatically saved as soon as it is entered - no additional save action is required.

- You can update multiple records quickly by selecting the action icon next to a student's name to mark all sessions in that row as present or absent.

- Alternatively, use the arrow beside each time session to mark all students in that column as present or tardy.

As you enter attendance:
- The Roll Completion progress bar updates in real time, providing a visual indication of your progress.

- Saved entries are highlighted according to the selected attendance type, making it easy to review the overall status at a glance.

Completion
You have successfully completed class roll entry for the selected date. No additional action is required unless further updates or corrections are needed.
